David Field Guitarist Bio

October 2022

Guitarist and singer David Field traces his roots back to Chicago’s South Side, where folk, blues and classical music mixed with avant-garde jazz. Field’s background was a natural step to rock, country, R&B.

Field’s musical output has included playing electric guitar in Grateful Dead tribute bands, releasing a CD of nineteen beloved solo guitar arrangements titled Wordless Poetry, playing background guitar for restaurants and community events, and general folk singing. Also releasing two cd's with his Americana roots duos Dead Set and Skiddles. Field is also guitarist for the Sebastopol Love Choir.

Field’s choice of material comes from the folk and pop repertoire, and his relaxed but masterful guitar work produces a warm and friendly show. You can expect to hear songs from the likes of Kate Wolf, Paul Simon, John Denver, Bob Dylan, Jerry Garcia, Crosby Stills & Nash and The Beatles; as well as some old-time folk songs, and original songs by Field and his Friends.

Field makes his home in Sebastopol California where he likes to “let the back roads take him home”. You can find him on the web at www.davidfield.com.
